Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

LOL, love it! I grew up on corporation pop as we used to call it and only buy water if I'm out and about, without my own bottle. I do drink quite a lot of it, but I get migraines if I don't and can't eat a meal without a nice water/squash to wash it down!
The funniest water product I've seen is the fibre-water stuff (can't remember the brand name). I'd much rather eat a satsuma/bunch of grapes/banana/cat sh*t... than buy that over-priced carp (hmmm, unsure as to whether the guy is still on here who dislikes fish discrimination, but will take a chance...). As for that 'Touch of Fruit' stuff...BLUURRGGGHHHH!!!

I was brought up on spring water at my Grans smallholding! Affectionately known as 'Adams Ale' it was freezing cold and sparkling even in the middle of summer. Ah, happy days!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

hah, quality read. I love going through those 'plastic' sections as I call them. Often skirt through boots to look at the gormless idiots preaching their rubbish to gullible people.
I don't drink enough really.. we made a decision to buy one of those yank fridges with the water/ice thingy in the door and filter (omg at the price of the filters!!!) so we'd drink more water (well.. me). It hasn't worked, so that probably wasn't a wise purchase. Looks good - not a lot of freezer room, gives you cold water. Bout it.
Recently though I've been making an effort (would love to go into full details why as I'm bored with nowt else to do - but I don't think it's appropriate for this forum!).. and try and drink at least 2 of those 750ml bottles a day (i.e. refilling it up).
Have you noticed, a few bottled water companies have "We don't recommend you reuse this bottle for hygiene reasons, please buy new" on the bottles in small print? heh.

I quite agree with the journalist. I watch my fluid intake/output religiously, and I know that tea is as good as water.
The whole eight glasses a day idea is a throwback from the early days of renal research, which has just been parroted by countless books without scrutiny, including by medical professionals who should know better. You notice they never even mention bodyweight ? ! Shame on them. Electrolyte balance is probably as important, especially if you get migraines.
That said, humans are one of the few species who do not feel thirst until they have dehydrated to a significant degree and if you are doing manual labouring (which was probably a lot more common when the rule of thumb was invented) especially on a windy day, you can need a lot more than eight glasses worth ! Try any windy day at the lottie without a drink of water/tea, and see how much more cream crackered you feel after...
Slightly watered down orange juice is supposed to be the best rehydration drink for fluid and electrolyte rebalance. There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

I do buy some bottled water, because I drink more if it is fizzy, and one thing I have found is that I am more likely to lose weight if I drink extra watery liquid.
STRONG tea, like coffee is diuretic isn't it? If so, it only replaces the water it makes you lose. I can't stand weak or 'subtle' tea. I prefer 'builder's tea' any day.
In Spain we get no realistic choice, the well water tastes nasty, even in coffee, but the big 8litre bottles get re-used for wine....Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
