Well done for coming back so nicely Chris
As girlies and playstation owners are now included.... I don't actually play anymore but my son usually has a game of Fifa 11 on the go.
When I did play it was gamessuch as Kingdom Hearts and dexter and Jax.
There is only ONE first person shooting game, the rest appear to be DOOM clones!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
Missed the original thread, but to answer your question, I play a bit on the XBox, recently it's been Halo:Reach, then this week I've rented Medal of Honor from BlockBuster to tide me over until Call of Duty Black Ops comes out next week. When I play online and get chatting to people they can't believe I'm in my 50's Guess I'm just a kid at heart.
Oh, and last weekend was a GoW2 fragfest as they were having an XP event. Gutted that Gears3, which was supposed to be out next April, has now been pushed back to the Autumn.
To address your original post, although the majority of players I've met online have been male, over the years I've come up against (and had my butt kicked by) several good female players.
Funny I've been eyeing up my PS1 this week and wondering if it still worked. I'm with Snadge and cut my teeth on Doom, Res Evil, Tomb Raider but my fav was Quake.
My bro has an X-box (I think it's that one) and his girlfriend only knows me in my current cast of a middle aged mum. She asked me if I wanted to have a go with some game or another and that she'd set it on easy for me. My brother looked at me, winked and said 'Tekken'. I told her to leave the difficulty setting as was and then proceeded to kick her butt. My bro cracked up cos he knew full well what was going to happen.
I go to board games evenings with my friends (yes, I do have some, I get out occasionally) and play things like Mah Jong, Frustration and Scruples. We do it by candlelight sometimes, we are so retro.
We are saving all the electricity in the grid for you guys, to stave off the coming blackouts...
(But secretly I lust to have a luxury penthouse apartment with ensuite greenhouse and countless gaming gadgets preloaded with software for the clueless and poorly co-ordinated.)
There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.
