Pretty good. Never quite worked out whether they left a bit of field unlimed for the spuds?

hotstuff; i thought that too! i really liked the setting of this series too- that lovely river with the barge. someone transport me there- i could live there happily. i wasn't sure that i would learn a lot from this series, as i come from old fashoined farming background, but i learnt so much, from start to finish. i just love these programs that divert into different areas of working life, for ordinary working people. i was sad when the program finished last night- the hour went too quickly!

I really enjoyed it. Didn't realise before I watched it that is based at Morwellham Quay. I was born down that way (Plymouth) so it was nearly like going home.

Really enjoyed it too! Specially as my cousin was in it! He's a stone mason and was the one who split the granite block for the sheep's trough. I'm not sure about a granite trough for feed - wouldn't it need drainage holes - it's not like you can tip it up to empty the rain water out - and there'll be plenty of that!
Haven't finished watching it yet, saving that for later!

So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

Just watched the repeat on BB2.. the best hour of the week and the quickest. I hope they saved the soot from chimney.. it was a good fertalizer (and slug control) back then, and sill would be now if you can get it.

Thinking about the soot, you'd have thought she would have lit the fire to get some hot water before washing the floor.

Yeah, especially since sorting out the range must have made a lot of mess!
The thing with using a chicken to sweep the flue, I can't see it working with a range; it was for open fires where the bird had room to get out at the bottom!
