Sorry folks, I did not like it at all - the woman drove me nuts. Huge fan of the original Good Life so maybe that would explain my dislike of the 'new' program.
That bloke is a bit of a drip? - Watched half of it last night.. I did chuckle at the seed catalogue jokes as that's probably (well, is) something I'd make jokes out of.
The thing is that it's not meant to be a remake or anything of the original, just a hummorous look at what would be feasible. I liked the tongue in cheek-ness of it all
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Yep, some goats will give a gallon a day for about 6 weeks at peak production, and average comfortably in excess of 4 pints over most of a year from kidding, if handled to ideal.
Mine rarely gave much over 4 pints at peak, which lasted most of the summer, and tailed off to half that later on, but then milking time wasn't always exactly 12 hours apart, and they were not 'gallon a day' stock anyway.
It's hard work keeping goats in full production!
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
I've finally seen a trailer for this, from which (verly limited) view, it looks like a gentle send-up of the idea....
Nowt wrong with that, as long as it doesn't set too many dreamers off on a course they can't stick to!

I won't watch it because of Giles Coren. He writes in my paper, he's an annoying little twerp in print: I can't watch him moving & talking, I'd shoot the telly
