Two trellises broken but that's about it. Fortunately all three 'blow aways' have not blown away!

Pretty good here, just bendy buckets banging round the garden. I biked to town & back today, very windy but that's not unusual here. Mr TS's offshore job got cancelled (3 days running now) as the boats & choppers won't go out in 4m waves.

The fence was replaced last year, it's not even rattled in these winds.

All OK here, just leaves, leaves and more leaves.
Can't keep up with clearing hem away they are coming off the trees so fast.

But do you not find the wind just blows them away? Or else blows them into a nice pile so you can just stick them in a black bin bag to make leafmould?

Finally plucked up courage to check on the plot today and it was not good. The walk in plastic greenhouse was a right off. Poles lying all over, cover ripped into two bits and some of the plastic joints were broken too. The cheapo polytunnel is also no longer on this plane. The cover ripped the first week we got it but managed to patch it up. It's pretty much beyond repair now but at least the frame's still in tact and in position.

The Jerusalem artichokes had been knocked over and the tubers were showing as the roots had been pulled up. Chopped them all down and covered em with soil so no harm done there - they'd pretty much had it anyway. Not sure what to do about the rest, will have to see if we can rebuild and repair. Stupid weather.

Oh no, that sounds dreadful! And what a shame about your greenhouse. I have a plastic one too, not walk-in mind you, and the wind ripped that off its base and it ended up halfway across the garden. At least the cover wasn't ripped though, and thankfully there was nothing actually in it. Hope you get your stuff all cleared up okay ...

Thank you I had a similar experience to yours at home a couple of years ago. Woke up to find the mini greenhouse half way across the garden. They're tied to the fence now so they go nowhere! The covers are a bit past it now though.

It's annoying because the walk in one had been doing so well. Attached to a fence, guy ropes in, skirt buried, seemed to be able to stand up to a bit of blowage. I suppose I should have taken it down when I emptied it. It's frustrating but I suppose you just have to get on with it and not let it put you off.
