My daughter went to buy four small poppies for herself and her three children after the supermarket shop. The man selling them asked what she would like and was told they were £1.00 each. She only had £2.00 on her at the time, so was only able to have 2 poppies. I thought that you made a donation and took a poppy? What do you think?

Don't get me started on poppies after seeing those toerags setting fire to them on armistice day! Death to British soldiers........I'd give them death alright...........
I personally think they should have rounded them up and shot the flaming lot of them, but at the very least, deported them to their favoured Afganistan!
A British student gets drunk and urinates on an epitaph and gets the full force of the law thrown at him,(rightly so) yet these toerags get away scot free? Where's the justice in that?
Sorry to lower the tone of the thread but I think I'm turning into an angry twisted old man!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

I actually asked a couple of years ago as to what was the cost per poppy manufacture...and was told £1 ..but they were the ones about 8cm in diameter...the smaller ones must cost less surely???"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Location....Normandy France

Have donated a significant amount this year as I don;t seem to be able to keep one for more than 24 hours. Not that I mind - no one has told me that they require a minimum donation for the paper ones though!Karen

My daughter and her family help to raise funds for the Help for Heroes charity and make a donation to the Poppy Appeal every year. She was a bit upset that it looked mean of her not to be able to pay £1.00 each. I've told her we'll make a joint donation next year and I'll knit the poppies!Granny on the Game in Sheffield
