Curses, I was offline for a few days and I missed the vote. I would have voted for the second one, however it seems as though the first one wins the day.
I shall get preparing.
Nicos, I'm currently in UK for a couple of days, will give you a ring when I get home this weekend to discuss "stuff."
Nearest ferry port is St Malo, just over the hour from there to chez moi.
I normally use Caen Porstmouth as I find it the cheapest. Caen maybe 2hrs 30 mins.
I will collect/arrange collection from the following airports for those thinking of flying:
Rennes, Nantes, Dinard, Brest (at a push, as its quite a way).
For those of you looking for accommodation, I will get Mme P on the case, she will know of local chambre d'hotes, and will publish a list for those who require.
My front garden is approx 5000m2 so will have space for a lot of folk, with more round the back if things get squashed.
The weather in May in Bretagne can be evil but equally can be beautiful, 2 years ago I was outside gardening just in shorts and flip flops. I am only a couple of hundred kms south of Porstmouth so assume the same weather as there, with perhaps a degree or 2 warmer.
More to follow I'm sure.Bob Leponge

Bobleponge,
You're the host (although from memory it may not quite have been all your own idea and some amount of arm-twisting may have gone on ) so I would assume you get the final vote on when it happens! I voted for May, but equally, I could wait until August so you could change mine from May to either if that helps!Caro
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day

Peeps wot get sea-sick should bear in mind that the Portsmouth St Malo crossing is 9 hours or so - cabins at night are pretty essential as those reclining seats are crip. Some may prefer a longer drive - then you get to see more of France, anyway. See here for crossing details.
