Just had a look at Brittany Ferries, Poole to Cherbourg on the fastcraft. 2 people and a car , weds to weds comes out at �256 .....

Does it specify ONLY 2 people? If not, perhaps you could take another 2 and halve the cost

It just asked how many ......but yes we used to take the kids for no extra cost so you're probably right

Just tried the same quote with 4 adults �336 ........p'haps that's cos its the fast craft, maybe different criteria on normal ferries......

I'm not sure G4- but I thought the fast ferry only takes cars???( may be wrong)

The 'normal' ferries are quite a bit cheaper...and only a few � more for extra passengers

I hope this is seriously happening cos I've sent an enquiry to the lady we have the studio in Carnac off. We can only afford a weeks hols next year so are planning on coming to Vinstock on the Fr 27th till Sun 29th and then going onto Carnac to finish the week.

Errrrrrrr just wondering about toilet facilities for lots of peeps .........

Bob, are there any close-by campsites?

There is at least one camp site I know of, only about 20 minutes from me, which also has a swimming lake (if anyone is mad enough) and a small kids playpark as well as a small shop (I think, but will confirm.) There will also be one in my nearest decent sized village, Mme P has just confirmed this, its close to where she works, so less than 10 minutes from me. As they are both municipal camp sites, I will have to check opening times, we reckon from about mid May, but again I will confirm.
Re toilets for toute le monde, once I have a reasonable idea of numbers, I will work out what to do. I have 3 bathrooms in the house, each with a loo, but if we are going to be lots, I will hire some portaloos.
I will also hire a marquee from the village for the weekend, for a focal point, and to keep us all warm and dry if the weather is a bit rubbish. I have a pot bellied wood burner, so will drag that into the marquee, and rig up some Heath Robinson kind of chimney/smoke extractor kind of thing (is Snadge coming????).

We were going to move onto Carnac on the Sunday but unfortunately the appt is not being let in 2011 ( cleaner issues) but we have found somewhere else now so If ok we will get the ferry probably on the fri (27th) and pitch our tent chez bob until mon (30th) then move on to finish the week at a place called Mellionec where we can do some walking and explore a different area. We will have to get booked as soon as and if then vinstock doesn't happen for one reason or another we can maybe go to the rental property earlier.

OH keeps asking what news. I take it the basic decision is 'yes', and dates as stated? I think we would be dropping in for a couple of nights on our way back from Spain, if we can afford to go anywhere just then (depends on availability of work between now and ferry-booking time, among other financial matters)
