Never mind all that, just get them out of thoven, put the lot (still in the pan) on a tray, squeeze tomato ketchup on to said pan, take tray, put on lap and dip fish fingers in ketchup and munch whilst watching TV
EDIT: having said that - white bread, butter and ketchup but I find it fills me up too quickly that way.

I don't eat them as am veggie but it's a regular tea in our house! Homemade bread with mayo and fish fingers - they love it Nice with a slice of cheese too...
White bread (but fresh not the processed stuff) with tomato sauce and a thin smear of butter. Tis truely lovely.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Salty, vinegary, minimum of 5 fish fingers per sanger, lashings of ketchup, hot sauce, salad cream, sweet chilli sauce (dependant upon my mood at the time. Wholemeal bread preferred, and that thick. It is De rigeur that you bite it so that your chin shares the delight.
