Am stuck for the 12 year old and 14 year old boys that have everything - they spend money like water and are given everything. Ideas?

How about an 'experience'...depends on how much you want to pay.
            Go Ape is fun
An off road driving lesson???/quadbike(not sure of minimum age)
            Ticket to a football/rugby match
            Caving day
Ski session at an indoor/outdoor place
            Archery /indoor snorkling/clay pigeon lesson

            less expensive...
            small disposible underwater camera
            fun hotwater bottle
            cactii
something for their bikes- cleaning kit maybe
            Guinness Book of Records
            mug -containing sweets/chocolate/something fun
            fun egg cups
            keyring
(student) cookery books with lots of piccies

are they into gardening???..wellies, small ladies spade, seeds etc

Lensbabys are great; but yes, a little expensive.

What about a pinhole camera kit - for him to make himself? I got one in WHSmiths once for £10; and it takes 35mm film so you can still get the pics processed.

This is it on Amazon Science Museum - Pin Hole Camera: Amazon.co.uk: Toys & Games

I got someone a voucher for a manicure, and another for a hairdresser, they both enjoyed them, saved them money, and they used them.

This year it's off to the bead shop for some stuff for someone to make their own jewellery, something for everyone from the stacks of jars of preserves, expensive makeup [again, cheap on ebay], big wooly slippers...

I got some remote conrolled stuff from whsmiths for one person [12 yr old boy] a big tarantula, they were half price just before christmas last year, seeing as the sales really did start early.

I agree with Nicos, if they have everything, they might appreciate an experience of some kind. How about a promise voucher, ie " I will take you to....(fill in space eg alton towers/bungee jumping/absailing) during the summer of 2011" or similar? It could be somewhere you know they'd like to go?

My great-nieces and -nephews get book tokens. Most of them I see a maximum of once a year. I know none of them are anti-reading, so I take the easy option.

What do most men do with a Birthday or Christmas card? They say 'Oh, nice card' and next day it's in the bin
And I think they can all manage without another jersey or a monogrammed leather cuff - link tray
A few years ago I suggested to the family that they don't get me any cards or presents for Christmas, Birthday or Father's Day. Instead they should combine together and get me a subscription to my favourite model aeroplane magazine (who, me? a sad old man? ) And it's great; I get something I enjoy each month, and they no longer have to think too much
There are magazines on just about every subject under the sun, you must be able to find something
