  • Just wondering...

I'm just writing out Xmas cards and it got me thinking about how widely spread my close family and relatives and friends have spread about the country and world.
Most of my family are still in the area where I was born ( Cheshire)....what about you and your family???

We're pretty widely spread in my family Nicos.
Just direct family (as in grandparents, parents and siblings) we cover New York, North Carolina, Manchester, London, West Sussex, Nantes, Loire Valley, Paris and Vienna.
The list gets much longer if you start including cousins, Uncles and Aunts

We are a fairly static lot really. I am 15 miles from where I was born, Dads still n the same house. My brother lives a couple of miles from there. Furthest is my niece in Bristol.

Me and my four children and their children are all within 10 miles of where I live, but my sister is in Cornwall, one brother in Devon, and one based in Devon but working in Africa with his wife.

My family is pretty much spread about but my mother and sister still live in the house that I grew up in. 1 sister and her family live in said house and my mum lives in the granny annexe. My other sister lives about 50 miles from there and my youngest brother is about 25 miles away.
Then... my eldest brother lives on Bali, my daughter is in Paris, my son lives in Florida and my step, step daughter (don't ask) lives in Plymouth and we are here in France and are thinking about moving!

I've just bought a house. In the same street are my Daughter, Hubby and two children 8 doors away. My Sister 7 doors away. My auntie, cousin and family 6 doors away. My Uncles brother directly opposite. My Brother in law and family at the bottom of the street along with my other Cousin and my OH's Cousin a stones throw away.

They will be naming the street Snadgeville before long!

I live 6 miles from where I was born, my sister, BIL, niece, still live in same town, my other niece her OH and daughter live just up the road from them, nephew currently travelling the world working on cruise ships.
My mum, dad and middle sister unfortunatly are buried a few roads along from them all.

OH 's mum and dad live about 25 miles away, his brother and family live 25 miles away from us but not in same town as them, and 18 miles away from inlaws.

My four sons live 3.5 and 8.5 miles from me.
My grandson lives 4 miles away.

You could say pretty close by.

Sometimes I wish they lived further away so I could have holidays with them lol.

We are all within a stones throw from each other with the exception of one sister who live in London and my eldest daughter who lives in America.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I envy those with their siblings and family close by.I live only 6 miles from my parents but my brother and sister are in Kent and Yorkshire. All my cousins/aunts uncles are in Kent. Not millions of miles away but enough to be making an event that we are all together. My husbands family are all here in Stevenage(part from one sister in the states) and I feel blessed(sorry if that sounds cheesy!) that are close by. We don' t live in eachothers pockets but get together regularly. I' m hoping youngest daughter is housed near us so we will have contact whenwe want without it being a major operation.
