Gold and Silver, has been for years. Loads of tinsel, garlands and over 100 baubles of different shapes. Takes me ages, but always worth it.
It used to be blue and white (himself bought new decs years ago in SWFC colours), but then I found assertiveness!
The town is decorated in blue and white, very tasteful, but IMO too busy being tasteful to be properly Christmassy (on a high-street scale). Not only are the 'communal' lights (which I believe are provided by the Chamber of Commerce) in this elegant colour scheme, but it appears every shop has followed the same plan, with only those off the high-street daring to vary with green, red or multi-coloured.
I enjoy all the weird and wonderful things decorate their houses and gardens with, however tasteless some of them might be. Sme time next week we will venture to Melksham to see what the house there is like this year (he goes OTT every year, and collects for charity from those who visit to stare, I gather there are now others, in other towns, joining in with this idea, one hit the news last week, by having a celebrity coem and switch his lights on).
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
Wow Dottie that sounds fabulous, you must live in a mansion
I wish. No I just put them in the corners of the room and removed a dining chair. They are just part of the furniture for a month, so fitted accordingly. No other lights needed in the room, just white christmas lights, to light the place up and make it feel cosy and festive.
Can I change mine (well more add to it really) I fancied some bunting for the fireplace and dresser, so bought some 'scandinavian' style red ones....which incidently goes with my angel chimes
Actually that reminds me of when my elder two were small (about 3 and 5 ish) they were desperate to decorate the tree themselves, so I left them to it - 10 mins later came to check how they were getting on - all the deccies were on the lower two branches of the tree
That's what I think G4. It looked quite full but of course the branches are opening out and that makes it a bit more sparse looking. Madmax has said no tinsel this year which also spoils things a bit (I will smother it with lametta later in the week though)
