I'm 32. Agree with alot of the comments that wise words from some with more life experience than me are v. helpful.

Im completely agreed about age and the relevance of it to gardening. However I can proudly proclaim that I am 23 I think ollie is about my age, Im sure he done a survey about age before.

I'm on the nose at 30, but age and gardening experience are not necessarily related. I enjoy the mix of people and ages, you get to learn lots about all sorts from all walks of life.

I can honestly say that I dont think about peoples ages when I am reading the forum.
I only know how old roughly a few members are anyway. And who is to say that someone of 16 knows less than someone of 45 (like me).
If you wanted to start an age specific group then I am sure there is a facility on here somewhere allowing you to do that. I think there are groups for raised bed growers, etc (I remember joining that one, but havent gone on it for yonks.)

My littlun became a member of this forum when she was about 7, she is now 10.
Back when she enjoyed planting seeds with mum - they just didn't grow fast enough for her!
She never comes on here anymore and I think her joining was more out of nosiness about who I was talking to and what about more than anything!!

When you said young gardener, I thought you meant, ahem, 12 to 16 year olds. I do think that at 30 you are a proper grown up and can play along with the rest of us

Forgot I'd posted this and just seen all the answers. As I said it was only an idea...and clearly a bad one at that! Points taken!

You posted a thread and then immediately forgot about it, sounds like a senior moment to me!
