  • Gardeners world sponsered by felco....No need to prune veg

    Comment

    • Watched the second episode last night and was totally bored with it. It's such a shame because I love Monty, but he seems to do a lot of walking with that wheelbarrow. Even Carol's enthusiasm has worn a bit thin and I like her too. Where is all the veg? I don't think I'll be watching it next week. I'll hedge my bets and record it so that I can fast forward the whole programme if necessary!

      • Hmmm. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be. And neither is GW.

        • The BBC has lost the plot... more and more people are growning veg in allotments and thier own back garden and veg seeds are outselling flowers seeds. I wish they would get back to basics and do a series on growing fruits and veg.
I wont bother wathing the rest of the GW series.

          • I enjoyed GW as it was relaxing to watch but then I love Monty so would watch him period.
He did show folk how to prune currant bushes which is sort of veggie related and last week he sowed beetroot and planted his onions so there has been veg in it.
Perhaps it will warm up with the weather. Would be nice though to have a programme that is just veggie growing though, perhaps they will do one? Ever the optimist.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown

I watched both episodes so far on I player, i sped through the boring bits which meant i watched approximately 3.5 minutes.

Better improve before Alan Titchmarsh's ITV version starts or they will bomb out in my opinion.

              • The first episode I thought was alright, but I turned the sound off at the boring bits as I was having a conversation with someone.
But the 2nd was a total turn off and in fact I did turn it off, turning back often, hoping it would get better, but it only did a bit with the fruit bushes at the end.
So like seasprout, I enjoyed about 3.5 minutes. Although that Magnolia flower was pretty impressive.

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.
