They used to offer the flu jab where I used to work but I never took it up & I don't think I would unless I was in a high risk group, mum-in-law has it because she's 88 & has diabetes & it makes her feel safe, she seems to be fine with it & doesn't suffer any side effects.

I had it this year for the first time. I don't understand what the arguements are against it? (unless you're allergic to egg white!).

It did give me a dead arm for a couple of days, but I've otherwise been fine.

Tip: The doctor used two needs to inject me; one to load the needle from the vial, and then a new one to inject it into my arm. Apparently the rubber on the vial blunts the needle, so a new needle makes the jab far less painful. If you're getting the jab, but don't like needles try requesting this it might make it easier.

I have never had one and unless high risk I wouldnt bother. Not because I am against them, I am neither for or against really but because I dont have any medication unless absoloutely neccassary and touch wood never catch all of these bugs that go around. Had some kids here last weekend and first thing they done was be sick everywhere. Hubby caught whatever bug it was (only has to be a whiff of it in the air and he catches it) and Im fine.
