Christmas Dinner Quandry

I have the in laws coming on christmas day and I would like to do roast turkey, no problem although OH wont agree but tough. four meat eaters one veggie.

I have my sons and patners coming on Boxing day, normally I would do cold cuts etc but this year I want to do them a roast as well, six meat eaters one veggie and one who only eats chicken potatoes and broccoli.
Not knowing who was coming when I bought a large Turkey but it will be too big for christmas day, I dont want to warm it up on boxing day, could I cut it in half ( length ways ) and cook one half on each day. It will be big enough.

Would just love to see pics of you attempting this task. Why oh why not take off the wings for stock first. Then roast as per usual. Before serving remove one leg and one breast and reserve in some stock. The carcuss can then be stripped of meat and reheated with rest of the bird.

You could always joint it, serve the breast rolled one day and the rest the next...??
I did that last year, and it was a big hit.

Sorry bren cant stand reheated meat, always worry about making everyone ill. Too many years in the waitressing trade.

Me and my dad once cut a turkey in half, we had to because it wouldn't fit in the oven. Mum bought the same size as she always had not thinking we'd moved house and didn't have the Aga any more.

My mum had to cut the legs off and cook them separately one year when the one we'd ordered put on a bit much weight

Turkey out of the freezer and defrosting in the cellar, it says defrost for 48 hours but as the cellar is freezing it will take longer. It should ( according to instructions ) feed 16 people I have four bigs boys to feed and a daughter that eats as much as they do.
