Evening all, Im still around, not getting much time online recently, due to work and new rota in my new branch (closer to home and a lot less stressful), but we are both still fine, still growing (Wassailled the plots and bees on Xmas day along with some friends - in the snow).
Still have both plots, plans are going well for the coming growing season, planting toms, onions, chillies and peppers into propogators this weekend, and bottling the 6th batch of homebrew wine (1 batch made with 15lb of grapes from the vine on the plot) and (possibly) the second batch of mead! All 6 of our beehives are still fine, checked them last week, still plenty of stores, so hopefully they will all come thru the winter ok again this year!
hello all - i was never a regular poster more of a lurker/watcher - strange really as in life i'm v chatty. Excuse was laptop broken - didnt have one for months and months - this coincided with the chooks destroying my little plot one day - i was devestated they scratched the lot up. Better barrier this year definately!
Can't believe how this site has grown, but good to see lots of the old faces still here.
Looking forward to this season.
Used to love your costings Mrs D, will you do it again this year
Hi stella, yup, will be doing the balance sheet again, have done it every year we've had the plot, so will definitely continue whats become a tradition now! As we've started doing homebrew wine again now, we should find a way to use more of the fruit from the plot, so will hopefully be a bit better at harvesting it this year! Cant wait till the weather improves a bit, Im on hols in a couple of weeks, if the weather is ok and the ground isnt too wet we are planning on spending the whole week on the allotment, getting it ready for the coming growing season!
