Am I alone in finding the day before xmas eve a complete waste of time. I am not one who can use her time wisely. I cannot work in a methodical way it has to be multi tasking or nothing. Today I have fiddled the day away just waiting for tomorrow when the house will be cleaned top to toe. Veggies prepared, trifle done, horderves prepared, bread made and tree decorated. Christmas day arrives. Tick tock tick tock and dinner is served. BUT, I don't eat a thing - just not hungry anymore but that's the way I like it.

This is the first year in 6 that I have not been at work over the festive season so I'm quite happy to have spent today doing very little.
Will be busy tomorrow popping to see my Dad and then over to my sister for Christmas Eve service at her village church. Don't think the OH need to do a great deal of shopping, maybe just a few perishables. Presents all sorted.
Once I qualify and start earning a living again, Christmasses off work will be a thing of the past!Kirsty b xx

I spent today with some friends making a life sized crib scene in the village church porch. It's the last stop on our village Advent Trail. There's a pic on my blog if you're interested. So I haven't had to find something to do today! Tomorrow, veggies, last wrapping up of presents etc. Better practice the carols for the Midnight Mass too! They only get trotted out once a year so I need to remind myself.
So no - I don't ever find any day a waste of time.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Have been off all week and haven't stopped, could do with today about another 3 times to get it all done. Have now got all the pressies wrapped and under the tree (except the one that still hasn't turned up from Amazon ), all food (I hope) bought etc although there's bound to be something I discover I'm missing tomorrow. Managed to get parsnips, carrots and swede out the ground yesterday and made a wreath for the door today as well as finishing off the crackers and a few other bits and pieces. Tomorrow I'll be making mince pies, sausage rolls, cooking sausage in bacon, the stuffing, making the first bit of a triffle, baking gingerbread men and goodness knows what else. Then need to deliver some pressies by hand and go to a carol service with some friends in the village. Added to that giving the house a proper clean before people come on Saturday and I'll be exhausted. Was supposed to have done some of that lot by now so don't understand this spare time bit

Well p'haps if you have nothing better to do with your time you could maybe do something worthwhile with it and help out somewhere on a voluntary basis. I'm sure there are lots of charities that would be extremely grateful of some help, even if it's helping serve up a christmas dinner somewhere.S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig

What binbags said! Having the option to 'fiddle the day away' is quite a luxury at anytime and more so over the holidays. You never know Bren, getting out and about and helping those less fortunate, rather than dwelling on your own life might do you the world of goodI was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
