Christmas has been wonderful again this year, great to have all 3 of my children back from uni etc, but there have been 2 anticipated events that have not come to pass, one good, one not.
The good one, my nephew was due to make an appearance on 21st, but has decided he's better off where he is, to his mothers dismay as he's laying on her sciatic nerve.
The other one, my mother had another stroke on 20th, leaving her unable to move and talk this time. There was no point her going to hospital, at least in the care home she is surrounded by familar people and her things. We were warned she might not make it through the night.
Every time the phone rang I got butterflies in my tummy, but baby is still snugly in mum's tum, and my mother is still with us, able to hear us, and turn her head towards our voices. She even chuckled at a joke yesterday.
I'm still jumping to answer the phone first though!
