in your garden. Just been for a walk round the garden and am amazed at how much is coming up. There are all the spring bulbs, daffs, tulips, snowdrops and others. Plus garlic, broad beans, mint, rhubarb and even some small leaves that could be lupins!!!! I put some seeds in ages ago and nothing happened so fingers crossed.

Cor blimey Stella...I'd have thought you'd written that from Italy!!!
My garden is firmly asleep...the only bulbs starting to sprout are the ones in the barn still waiting to be planted!!!
Must be lovely for you to see though...my brother used to live in London and his garden was always about 3 weeks ahead of ours in Cheshire!
Any piccies to get us excited about what Spring will have in store for us p????"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

I planted some daffodil, tulip, hyacinth etc bulbs in containers and have had them in my (very) unheated conservatory. I notice that shoots are appearing. I shall put them outside in a week or two ... I don't think I shall need to harden them off as when I watered a couple of weeks ago (they are standing in a large tray and I water from below) the water froze! This was during the day.

I espesh went and wandered around our estate having read your post!!
Nope- not a sausage- anywhere!!
Plenty of birds tucking into the bird feeders though...and the gentle wander was made espesh lovely cos the sun was shining and giving off some warmth. That'll heat the soil- so I'm hoping my spring flowers will start poking their heads out soon!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Some daff bulbs in pots but, on the down side, found 4 panes of glass broken in the greenhouse.
Just can't win, and more snow forecast for next week.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I went to the Hill at lunchtime to dig up a parsnip. I noticed that the ground is absolutely sodden, and that there is no sign of any of the bulbs, or the garlic.
On the plus side, the wallflowers look fabulously sturdy, and I've hardly any losses of overwintering onions (about 2" high), despite the very cold winter.
