HELP! UPS Now threatening...

UPS have now sent us a 'Final Notice' and want payment by11th Jan.

We do not have a UPS account, my partner packaged up an item sold on Ebay. Arrangements for collection payment etc was made by a UPS account holder in Poland, nothing to do with us.

What do I do now? What if they send in the Bailiffs?

Help please, the panic is setting in

You do not have a contract, you did not sign anything. The liability for the payment is between them and their client - not you!

Tell them you are contacting trading standards.
They have your address - but do they have your name?
Surely their contract is with a named customer who does not live at your address.

If UPS wanted payment they would send you a letter I would NOT give out account details over the net.

IF UPS wanted payment send them the contact address.

I am very wary who I give any of my details to.

The earlier thread was me, don't know what to do. What if I get the emails from the account holder together and forward them to UPS and tell them I am not the account holder [very clear in those emails] They would have obtained my partners name and address either from the account holder or the packet as 'sender', even though he is not strictly the 'sender' as collection was arranged in Poland..............................

firstly calm down - they want you to panic so you'll send them the money.

DO NOT send any money - you will not be able to claim it back and by sending them money you have enforced their hold over you.

Write back to them, state firmly the facts (not how you feel) and make it very clear you will not tolerate any form of intemidation and that you will involve Trading standards and the consumer credit dept if it goes any further. HOWEVER, if they wish to take it to court, you will be happy to go and sort it out with a judge etc.

Don't Panic. I remember the previous thread on this... as others have said, you have no contract with them. They need to sort it out with whoever arranged for them to pick up the item which was not you or your OH. If you pay them you will not get your money back. Also, as someone else has said, tell them you'd be happy for it to go to court - you have not done anything wrong.

the contract was between the ups account holder who organised the shipping of the item, who was also the receiver of the item.
They couriered it on their customers instructions, not on yours, or your partners. If anyone should get in touch with ups to explain the situation, it's your partner, not you.

The contract was between the person in Poland & UPS all you did was send the parcel.

Is the person in Poland part of the Scam.?
