I really need some help with this...

Does anyone know of a program that could help me set up a timetable? Say, if I can put into it that I have to do this, that and the other every day at set times, and this, that and the other every day at any time, and it would then churn out a timetable?

(Please don't suggest a spreadsheet of any sort because I hate them with a passion and never can get them to work )

I'm running on Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Quite embarrassing to have got to 38 years old and still be struggling to manage my time, and stop procrastinating...

Microsoft Outlook has an electronic calendar that you can input regular events or one offs. It gives out reminders and you can print off a hard copy calendar. Sorry, can only describe what I use, whether it's available for you Sarz, I haven't a clue!

I've got a calendar with Hotmail, but it means going into every single day and putting in 'Walk the Dog' and 'make the dinner' and 'collect from school' etc etc. I want something that will automatically plan my day and tell me when I've got time to sit and faff on FB or spend an hour on the phone

Thanks Flo, I'll have a look at that.

wouldn't recommend the Gmail option. we use it for work and it regularly 'drop' all the info loaded into the calendar.

Microsoft office has entourage which is a time management program with calendars, schedules, list, project files and all sorts of things to help 'chivy' the task along.

as already mentioned, outlook also has a good time management section. you can assign tasks, and set reminders to all / anyone sharing your home network.

being a mac-ette i use i-cal and find that right clicking on an entry brings up different options, like repeat daily, once a week, monthly, assign labels, colours etc. that might work for your calendar too.

I was going to suggest Outlook. I used to use it. With one version you could colour-coordinate your tasks. Very useful.

My version of Office doesn't seem to have that Lizzy? It's Office 2007.

I'll have a look at Outlook, although it's a bit of a pain because I usually use Windows Live Email.

Thanks BM, I'll have a look at that too

I know you are looking for a ping program, but sometimes only a good old fashioned page a day diary - with all the half hours marked out - is the best thing.

Then you can just pop in other tasks, and allocate time periods to cover each task.

I'd probably end up with an A4 page per day landscaped into 7 day slots, shade out the walk dog/take kids to/from school/cook dinner etc as a block and then add daily tasks as and when.

I've just checked and I don't even have 'Outlook', only 'Outlook Express' - the joys of using an outdated OS

Yeah, I was kinda looking for the lazy option Zaz

Isn't it in that Sarz? I use it at work, so I can't check from here. I must admit, I synchronise my week to a page book diary with my electronic diary at work and have done for years. The other staff scoff, but they weren't scoffing on Tuesday when the system was down for the morning!
