What veg are you trying for the first time??

I've never grown Celeriac before so I've bought a variety called "Monarch" to try. I love celery and I've heard peeps say it has a flavour very much like celery so I'm giving it a go this season.

So the question is...

What are you growing for the first time this season?

Snap GN well I am thinking about it, never eaten it so not sure if we like it, but it is on my list of possible new things.

Aubergine... I like them, just never tried growing them before!

i can't get celeriac to grow bigger than a tennis ball..

we buy them from lidl, they normally have them on special.

I've grown celariac, i've also grown self blanching celery but I wouldn't mind a go at 'proppa' trench celery!

kohlrabi, and giving the cabbage spreouts another go, the lack of water last year meant they did almost nothing

Aubergine for me too. Popcorn (but it's got to be similar to sweetcorn?) 'Normal' onions fron seeds - I usually do sets. And melons
I grew celeriac last year for the first time and they were small but delicious!

I've decided to try some Kale this year. Have terrible memories of it from my childhood many moons ago but this year my daughter decided we might be snowed in and had things sent from Tesco. One of the items was Curly Kale she said how lucky we were because they can't get it in Dubai where she lives.I kept putting off using it but she kept asking me how I enjoyed it so eventually tried it. I was very pleasantly surprised. Now I could do with some advice on which variety to grow. Any suggestions !!!

I've grown Tuscan kale also called Cavolo Nero for the first time last been impressed by the taste and how easy it was to grow.

Trying to grow a few things for the first time this year, Turnips, Swede ,Garden Peas,
Pea - Oregon Sugar Pod, Calabrese and Broad Bean

Onion from seed (and it's a red variety too), and I am over-wintering the Padron chilli plants (2 of them) and hoping they get to fruiting stage faster than the ones grown from seed.
