Never even considered it but then again I've got good teeth (still no fillings and I'm the top side of 40 now), however somebody at work has it and he was complaining the other week that whatever him and his missus need they never seem to be quite covered. Don't know if this is as he has the wrong policy or it's a general thing, I do know that it sounded very expensive though.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

we have one. it's not cheap. I think it's £45/month for both of us but I make full use of it. I grind my teeth during my sleep so it needs looking after.

The NHS dentist currently don't do any preventative medicine so they can only fix your teeth after you do the damage.

For the money we pay, we get 3 monthly checkup and scale with a hygienist and a 6 monthly checkup with the dentist. We get a free toothbrush when we go. I get my bite guard checked for wear and fit.

It covers all the appointments and standard times. The only things are laboratory fees. It's not an easy decision to make but I needed to be monitored before destroying my teeth!

Hmm, I've seen a plan for about 15 quid a month. I have been grinding my teeth really hard just recently - a lot of stress. the annoying thing is I can make the guard myself, I just dont work in a lab any more :-? My teeth are all quite good - no fillings and approaching 40 but i think there might be a filling on the horizon

I think i will get a quote and see how much they quote.

I have Den plan, I pay £11.75P a month and that entitles me to two dental and two hygenist appointments a year. If I need any work doing I get a discount. My OH also has it, so my daughter gets free dental including braces but then she is only 14. I wasnt happy with my NHS dentist so went private. I also through work pay HSA £10 a month and can claim money back for dental, glasses, and hospital stay, depends how much you pay to how much you get back a year if you have treatment.

I'm the same as Jackie - couldn't find a good NHS dentist locally so now I pay about £12 a month for a private practice - it also means I get to see the hygienist and now I don't need loads of treatment but have managed to maintain things ok for several years (touch wood).

We have one because we don't get to see the hygienist otherwise. I need regular hygenist appointments as I produce lots of 'hard water' and need a regular scrape (too much information)! I feel it's worth it. He doesn't!
