  • Allotment Blogs

Without knowing if there is a thread already dedicated to this, I thought it would be a good one to see if any readers run active blogs for their plots. I am always particularly interested in reading other blogs as well as forums.

Another suggestion for the grapevine committee would be a dedicated allotment blog awards thread? as I bet there are some good blogs out there!

To start the ball rolling, you can visit my plot at Allotment Blog at Dykes Edge Blackpool

Post your link, I look forward to reading many of yours.
    Regards, Craig Rockfield.

There is another forum I use which has a forum for people to post Allotment Diaries. Posts are only allowed from the "Author", and there is a separate forum for follow-up posts.

Works well because any posts appear in the "New Posts" list, so its easy to keep up with what other people are doing.

As a consequence I update my blog only about once a year, with a major overhaul of all the projects we have done during the year, and my "I sowed some onions" is in my Forum Diary instead.

Mine is not just an allotment blog, so I doubt it would count. It covers the garden, allotment, making preserves and baking, country wildlife walks and even the odd foray into quilt making!

I subscribe to a lot of the blogs from this forum and elsewhere through Google reader. It's a convenient way to get updates in real time. The problem is finding the time to read them all.

We started a blog a while back, only remembered about it last night (oops). I read a few peoples here and one I stumbled across somehow who has a wicked sense of humor and I can releate to being a newbie gardener! (the idiot gardener)

I know I wouldn't keep it up to date if I had one, but I do find it interesting to look at yours when I have the time.

I started blogging my garden and allotment late last year. I'm really enjoying doing it, it's helpful to be able to look back, and I luuuurve looking at my stats!
