well we are in the Aveyron on a walking holiday from Tues 24 to Thurs 26 so there is no way we can get to Normandy on the Friday but we will try to get there for Sunday! But we have to find a chicken/cat sitter as our neighbours are moving in April!

Just had a proper look to see if we can make it, but I'm gutted to say it's a no go.

£200 for the ferry.

£100-150 for diesel

£150 for a tent & bits

+food and booze.

Just can't do it - bummocks.

You could fill the car with cheap wine to take home then you don't have to buy any for ages ....which sort of saves you money ....

I'm not sure how I mixed up the dates - I'm in Vegas 12-17 May.

We're looking at buying a tent anyways - but to allow us to have a weekend or two in the UK (cheap). We did borrow one for Grapestock 2010.

You can buy cheap wine here these days.

Still works out at £300-350 for a weekend for us. If we had no other holidays booked then maybe, but...
