I only use them in the Autumn, when they sell seeds at fifty pence a packet!

        Find them via Google.

I use this journey planner a lot, it's terrific

btw, have you discovered the Plantation Garden yet? It always used to have a small plant sale area

We have lots of the larger "Garden Centers" that sell gifts i.e jam's, pickles, cakes, coffee etc they even sell baby grows...they'll even fit double glazing in your house if you ask them nice.
But I like to talk to the people that actually sowed the seeds, not just took them of a lorry and displayed them so I support mi local Nursery.

i like a sunday afternoon at the local garden centres(i say local but there are around 10 on one stretch of the clyde valley about 20 miles away) where i can get some great ideas and pick up a few bargains at the same time..

it also lets the wife think shes had a days shopping( her fav passtime) without visiting a high street!!!

a few of the garden centres are family run and have nurseries attached which i find are the best ones and the staff are great with advice!!

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand

Sounds like your stretch along the Clyde Valley is like my stretch of the A30, wonderful to have such choice and able to just pop in for a relaxing wander and/or purchase.

My fave garden centre is the one my good friend in Barnsley took me to! Can't remember the name of the centre but we had a lovely time mooching around the plant centre and the shopping part!

That would be "Shelly Garden Centre" near Huddersfield Jeanie. The one where my chiminea came from and you bought your sandwich cool bag from .

Like Dottie the stretch of the A30 from Bagshot to Egham is my normal hunting ground, but on the odd occasion I'm anywhere near Enfield, North of London then I can't resist a visit to Crews Hill. A bunch of Garden Centres within walking distance of each other, a very dangerous place for the wallet.

What I like most in a garden centre is the sale of seeds at the end of the year.

Otherwise I don't shop there, its a nursery for me, smaller scale, more appropriate profit margins and generally stronger healthier plants.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
