Yes, miss smarty-pants, but some of us are doing it this month too!
((((HUGS)))) TC - this will make you stronger as a couple. I was going to say "I couldn't do it" but what I actually mean is I wouldn't want to do it, but I know, if I had to, I could. Just remember, he's at the end of the phone (Skype is cheaper!), it's not for ever, and we're here if you need to chat-moan-whinge-sob-yell... about it!All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

I find it very difficult to advise as I was the one working away, I had to do it for over two years. My wife tells me the first few weeks were the worst and the worst thing of all was turning over in the night to an empty spot in the bed.
That was all some years ago and eventually we made a choice, that was for me to start my own little business. Six months later that just what we did and fortunatly we made it work.
Now we have made another lifestyle choice I only work 3 days a week.
Don't let anyone tell you it won't be difficult, it most certainly will be. I think the thing that got us through those last six months was that we had something to aim for, something to look forward to. Maybe you might try and make a long term plan I know that can be difficult these days but if you to had something to look forward to it would help.

hallo kind fellow grapes...
just got a phone call this afternoon from my husband. The contract has fallen through. After being told last week that it's just missing formal end-client approval and he'd be starting mid-week this week.
Today he was told that the end-client refused him as a worker on the project, as he doesn't have enough experience.
He feels awful and disappointed... completely knocked his confidence and he feels like leaving the country for good.
I can't stop crying... I feel so bad for him. It was such a struggle to get this offer and now it's lost at the last hurdle.http://onegardenersadventures.blogspot.com/ updated 10-03-2010 with homebrew pics & allotment pics

I haven't commented so far but have been reading the post - so sorry to hear this last stage of the story. After all the soul searching you went through as people and a couple, it must be devastating for you, especially the OH. Hes probably feeling guilty for having put you through the ringer for no reason on top of everything else now. Big hugs and lots of best wishes for the future.Last edited by lizzylemon; 15-02-2011, 09:59 PM.

Hallo fellow grapes... just to keep you posted as a thank you for all your kind words. Hubbie yesterday signed a staff position contract in London. He was made a brilliant offer, just missing the fine details as to relocation support. He's got his medicals this week and will probably start 01-05. We will be joining him later in the year, once we spent some money on the house to make it worthwhile to rent.
So relieved and looking forward to the change, even if that means I have to give up my job here (I like my job, so that's a bit of a bugger). and it will mean I lose our allotment after putting so much effort in it. BIg bugger.Last edited by tiachica; 05-04-2011, 02:39 PM.http://onegardenersadventures.blogspot.com/ updated 10-03-2010 with homebrew pics & allotment pics

Thank you Headfry,
well the OCAs and the YACON will have to grow in potatoe planters, as they are moving with me... lol... just a shame for all the raspberries we planted last year. Would have loved to see them fruit.http://onegardenersadventures.blogspot.com/ updated 10-03-2010 with homebrew pics & allotment pics
