It's something I'd love to see- but as yet I've never had the chance.

Me thinks I'm too far south for this????

I saw that on the morning news on Friday, but as Flum says, it's a bit too cloudy.

I had an email from one of the groups I belong to at NASA giving an amber warning that the possibility of Aurora was fair to good due to the recent sun activity IE the solar mass ejection spewed out from the Sun and intersecting our Magnetosphere around the Earth
however it looks as though Its not resulted into anything over the norm as they said they would email me again if any extra aurora activity was noticed but as yet "No more emails keeps on coming"!!!

Don't get too keen to see a big display ! CMEs have the potential to do massive amounts of damage to our civilisation. How do you like the idea of all those satellites up there going out of control with fried circuits, colliding, and coming to Earth in a random rain of fragments ? Not to mention frying half the transformers in the national grid...we might have our own veggies but I think we'd have difficulty cooking them !
Won't stop me going out to have a look mind, I'll be in place with no light pollution...

Didn't see 'em...but it was worth looking out, just to see the Milky Way in all its glory !
