It does seem painful to have tattoos. Never been tempted.

Another thing I've never been tempted with is having my ears pierced, or any other part of my body.

Looks nasty. I'm also allergic to pain.

Never liked the temps as a kid, but spent an hour having a celtic leopard engraved when I was 40. My choice, and at that age an informed decision. As for your kids, tell them calmly it's their choice..however if they choose to put them on you will scrub them off as soon as they come in, and they will not get any (insert suitable treat) for that week. Then stick to it, as soon as they come in and with no futher comment. If they are still having them now despite it being uncomfortable being scrubbed every night, then they either really love them, or are using them to wind you up..and they are suceeding too! And it's teaching them early that their actions have consequences. Personally I think the more you fuss the more they will do it.
HOWEVER if my neighbour let my kids play wii (or any other) games that I seriously thought were too old/nasty etc for them I would ban them from going into the house, and ground them for as long as it took to enforce that. In my mind it is something completely different. Although I suspect a lot of people will disagree with me.

I refused to allow my kids to play on the Grand Theft Auto - Vice City, which as it was an 18, I think was completely reasonable (they were 11 & 13 at the time). However, when tidying their room one day, I found a copy of said game in the cupboard It turns out that it had bee n lent by a friend from round the corner who was also only 11... I was quite shocked to be honest, and not only confiscated the console for a week, but also told my son that if his friend wanted the game back, he would have to come round with his mum to get it. They never did come for it, and my son was no longer allowed to go their house.
As for temporary tattoos, well, it wouldn't bother me any more than my daughter covering herself in make-up at that age did - it's just dressing up to my mind.

          Yep, that too!

I would not allow my children to be abused in this way. Talk to your kids so they understand the consequences of such activity.

            .
Just to clear up a mis-understanding. A 'Tramp Stamp' is a "delightful" term given to a tattoo which has been positioned on the small of the back by those snobby and always patronising womans magazines which tell you how to look, cook and fook.

I intensely dis-like the snobbery that accompanies tattoos now they have become main stress and fashionable.

I've now had 13 tattoos in my life, with the largest being from shoulder to elbow and the smallest being 8 cms. Did I play with transfers as a child. No

Do they define me, no, not all.

Life, actions, family, friends and beliefs define a person not ink on their skin.
