    The trick is to teach yourself to see things as a collection of shapes and edges, rather than as objects, then you learn to draw what is actually in front of you, rather than what your mind tells you you are looking at. Not sure how drawing something inverted will do that, because that isn't what you are seeing!
    Once you can draw what you really see, then you can start teachng yourself to draw things you only see inside your head, which is much harder because they don't keep still!
    I'm fairly good at some aspects of the theory, putting them into practice is another matter, must try some more (but I was never better than 'can recognise it', even when I spent hours most days playing with paper and pencil).
    Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
