Thanks for your kind words. Who would have believed that giving people 25% off would have been so popular

Lets hope things keep going well from now and that the weather picks up so that people can get some spuds planted. We have frost again this morning.

HI Tattieman! Good to see you here again.

When you plant your potatos - do they need eye protection/safety goggles, or can they still see underground?

      thanks

I wrap my little spuds up in a blanket before I plant them

The commercial seed potatoes will be plante dfrom mid April onwards depending on the weather really. If the soil is cold then they will not grow so we wait until the time is right before planting.

Hello Tattieman, I have picked up some international kidney's, this year as I was fed up with fussing with pink firs last year, will they grow outside of Jersey, or do I have to move a little further south?

If needed I could put up a screen with some local images projected onto it for them, it might work out a bit expensive on the old lecci, but I think they are worth, what do you think?
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

That could lead to information overload for people

To get the authentic Jersey taste you should make a massive hill in your garden and then plant them on the south facing side of it and then lash seaweed all over them. That would be the easiest way

A salad spud has to be waxy. The ideal salad potato is Charlotte and it is really easy to grow. Did anyone see the programme on BBC2 on Wednesday night about heritage seed potatoes? It had one of the guys from master chef on it and I thought it was really good. Should be on iplayer somewhere.
