  • Small gratuitous acts of unpleasantness

Thought it might be an idea to counter the small acts of kindness, since I have to confess to being less than perfect.

Some years ago I worked in a solicitors and 'borrowed' a sheet of headed paper on which I wrote a letter to an acquaintance - pompous sort of fellow.

The gist was: If you attend these offices at 10am on 1st April you will hear something to your advantage, signed L E Fant.

1st April was a Saturday that year, and the office was closed.

I woke up early and took great delight watching him leave with a spring in his step to keep the appointment.

    How horrid is that!

Maybe not horrid but I will admit here (and nowhere else!) that I have been known to go into the drivers lounge at 03.00 when everybody is streched out sleeping over the seats and swap all the pairs of boots and shoes round. When everyone wakes up 20 mins before the boat docks its best if you are somewhere else
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

We are all (miles!) less than perfect, but hope that the 'happiness' thread outweighs the 'guilt' thread here, ha ha! ...although these are funny (and naughty) to read!

With swapping boots - funny for the swapper, *!£$%* for the swappee, but I come down on Beefy's side for this one!

MB - Anyone who falls for a solicitors meeting on both 1 Apr, and on a Sat, deserves being put out - date apart, when did you last see one of the Professions working at the weekend!!
