This thread makes me feel very old.

When I first started in the trade baths were cast iron and white finnished. Then came the thin tin jobs, still white but much easier to get up the stairs. Finally came fibreglass still white at first and then about 30 odd years ago colours. The colours seemed to be wishy washy i.e. pink, light blue etc, or in your face navy blue, mocha, that was awful.

When I last refurbed my own bathroom some 18 years ago I went back to white with chrome plated taps and added colour with tiles and furniture.

Being practical I like white for the simple reason that should there be an accident the item can easily be replaced at a reasonable cost. Good quality chrome plated taps were a no brainer. The finnish lasts a lot longer and if they are quality they are very easy to service.

As to my tiles I like to sit in my garden when in the bath.
