    Jings Peter, I think I need to get out more or I wouldn't be bothered about this stuff , but since spelling is upsetting you I think you should note the word is CONDESCENSION

    As I understand it the fir bit of the name refered to the smell/taste of this variety, therefore it has a context and meaning.

    And I think you mean REFERRED

    So please it is fir not fur in PFA.
    Maybe it's all typos. What does it matter. We're not writing academic essays or business letters. We're talking to our gardening friends and everybody knew what everybody meant. I'd just hate to think anybody felt inhibited from posting here for fear their spelling or grammar would be ridiculed.

        I wouldn't call them accidents, Bubblewrap. How can a person be an accident ? A happy surprise seems a better description - but maybe I live in wonderland.
