All and I mean ALL of the major issues that we have dealt with have happened on a Tuesday. I went back and checked the thread that you can't see where we log all issues, and yes - it's a Tuesday.

Like others have said those of us who have been here a while know how others speak on here, most is banter, not very often an offensive post is posted. Occasionally those that are offensive either have the thread locked or they are banned.
We are very friendly ya know.

              Pea,

I have only been here a few weeks and because I hold strong views on certain subjects may have put a few backs up. But there is a difference between being forthright and being rude.

The Mods here do a good job often in thankless circumstances and I have already noticed one person whos was banned for being plain rude.

Give it time its a whole new school yard and you will soon find who you like to play with.

And as to 2 Sheds being blunt no way she's a cuddly pussy. Smiley

Before I even read this I thought "O some posts are a bit stingy"
I know as a newbie I was keen to post right, left and centre, often with barbed responses.
Some/most impart their wisdom with good grace and a willingness to teach others, whereas some impart theirs with a feeling of superiority and imply that others are just plain thick.
You will get used to it.
This is a lovely forum I have looked at others and ran away as some of them are just downright nasty

I would also take into account that everyone has an off-day every now and then. We all get a bit snarly from time to time but it doesn't mean anything. I think if someone's snarly ALL the time that's not the same.

2 Sheds a cuddly pussy? I know her personally, and she does have claws though she usually keeps them sheathed.

Have you met anyone on the autistic spectrum? If you didn't know that about them, they could definitely come across as sarky/difficult/abrasive. It's not that they mean to, they just see the world differently.

This is the nicest, most tolerant forum I've ever been on (with the exception of a US based sewing one: but then they are WAY too Pollyanna for my liking, nobody would ever say "that orange boiler suit really does nothing for your ass")

It wasn't a smile, it was more of a snort (where's the snort smilie?)

I hold my hands up: sometimes I think some people are just being thick, I do. But, I really try not to let it show. Yes, I post links, and yes I say 'use the search button' but that's because of how I teach in school ... we teach the kids to find out for themselves. We don't give them knowledge, we show them how to go about gaining knowledge for themselves

I am blunt, I am sarky: I can't help it, that's the way God made me (face to face I'm funnier and nicer, honestly). No harm or offence intended though. I'd be mortified if I upset anyone

I post on here purely and simply to help others to grow their plants. I really could happily spend those 2-4 hrs a day doing something else, like painting my toenails, or doing the housework

It's the only forum I've stuck with and I've joined lots - 4 gardening ones 3 chicken ones, a couple of quilting ones. While I get digests emailed from a couple of them I often just delete them because I don't like the style of some of the posters. Here, well, it's home! When I do a sharp intake of breath I usually find that the mods close the thread shortly afterwards so I reckon their rudenest quotient is set about the same as mine!

Stick with us - we're worth getting to know!

                            Ha ha...Love that term!!!!

Actually I have to say that sometimes when peeps first join they almost expect to have to 'defend themselves' - bit like sorting out a pecking order- where as others are shy or smiley peeps.

Once peeps realise how friendly the Vine is it generally flows along really well.
Yes- we do get the odd troll/troublemaker - and for that we Mods have big red shiny buttons ( woohoo!!!)

The mods are always here if anyone "steps out of line" & posts something that could be deemed "offensive"
I have been moded on more than once but I'm still here.
