  • Frogs or Toads

    Frogs or toads,

I managed to dig up 4 frogs/toads in one burrow today. They were about 6 inches undergroung in seriously heavy clay. They now have pride of place in my compost heap.

    Are they frogs or toads?

Togs or froads? Not sure but with the warts I would think they were toads!

Toads....don't feel tempted to kiss one though!!!
Do make sure they are well covered as we are in for a really cold snap over the next 4 days. ( I found about 6 dead ones in my pond a few years back and am now very aware of their winter care.)

Got a greenhouse Johnty? We had a toad in ours and it really sorts out the slug and snail problem.

Definitely Toads, frogs have a ridge down either side of their back, those warty amphibians are definitely Toads!

They look like toads Johnty. And toads walk and frogs hop.

Yes indeed toads, I do a toad rescue at work every autumn and now have very healthy populations at home and on the lotties.

Its great being able to grow hostas and not have any slug damage.
