I have to say even though in the end we enjoyed the show, the entry fee was way too much.
Why is it that no matter what show you seem to visit.....the step ladder man is there as is Munchy Seeds..... Step ladder man even goes to the boats shows that we attend! and
what was the point of yakult being there???? randon entries.....???

      Edible Gardening Show

Thats a bit of a shame... i was thinking of going next year, but left it this year to see what people thought, I thought £13 was way too much for such a small show in the current climate.

I saw the Exhibitor layout map a month ago and thought it was only page 1, i was wrong.

I'm planning my 1st Malvern Spring Show instead, even though its a little further to travel than Stoneleigh.

I was going to go till I read the feedback and decided against it. I spent the entrance money for me and Mr Miffy on some plants, seeds and compost instead and spent the day in the Spring sunshine planting it was luverly.

oOn a slightly less grumpy note for me...
I enjoyed it, I got the tickets two for 1 ages ago [thanks whoever posted that link], it wasn't that big, but I did like that it focused on stuff I wanted to know about.
I hit the heirloom tomatoes with a will, and got some raspberry canes [ there was no fruit in the garden till this afternoon, got them back and planted out straightaway, and seeds sown too], and I think 14 packets of seeds. I got some sweet peas for the first time ever and some herbs I'd been wanting to try.
Only downside to the day was my exhaust falling off on the way back and having to attempt repairs at the side of the road...good job i found some wire I can laugh about it now

I went with my best friend today. It was a long day as I'd come up from Eastbourne but I loved every minute of it I got myself some new chilli seeds (they'll be sown tomorrow morning), lots of other bits and pieces but my favourite purchase of the day was a rusty pig that you could use for all sorts of things Difficult to describe so I'll find a link to their website for you

Exhausted but happy after a fun day out

we went yesterday - we'd got the tickets half price before christmas, so entry wasnt an issue, we'd hired a minibus so cost another £20 odd each quid to get there and we REALLY enjoyed it. As Headfry said we thought it would be over in a couple of hours but by the time we'd been round once listened to a couple of talks, spent some money, all met up for a picnic (lovely weather) and went round again & spent some more money we didnt leave until closing time. Heirloom Tomato stand was fantastic and they're local to us. Spent lots of money but it was some of my birthday/christmas money left over so thats OK, 12 of us all said we'd go again next year

I went on Saturday and it was OK, as most people have said there wasn't much there and there were a few strange unrelated stands. I had a few good chats with a couple of stall holders and a very nice bee man (we're thinking of doing bees) but there was very little I wanted to spend my money on - which meant that I had a very nice meal out on Saturday night with money I didn't expect to have . Doubt I'd bother going next year as it was a 3.5hours round trip but still basically enjoyable.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
