Was buying a pressie for a 4 year old girl recently (mum also a very good mate) and spent about an hour wandering round Toys R Us with an increasing sense of panic - everything was all so nasty and pink princess type stuff unlike the boys section which has proper toys you could use and do stuff with, the girls was all pretty pretty stuff about looking pretty and all that. I ended up getting her some sticker and colouring books as she loves those but 2 is probably a bit young for that. Sorry for the minor rant, probably should have put in on the other thread after the visit to the toy shop

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I don't know Alison, last photo on faceache was her with her mum's filofax [actually, not an actual filofax as we are both stationary freaks but refuse to buy filofax products - but anyway].....and when she visited here about a year ago she headed straight for the pile of papers on my bottom tray.

      Stickers are very very good

2 yrs old????...she'll be chuffed with whatever you give her....so long as there is lots of paper tearing involved!!!!

Me thinks you want to please mommy too???...offer to take her off mommy's hands for a few hours to plant up some seeds ( lots of piccies) - or make a cake ( piccies again!)
Mommy will appreciate a couple of hours to do her own thing...and 'likkle un' will enjoy her one to one with you...esp if there are piccies /stuff to eat afterwards!!

        ...ergo- voucher time

        Have a lovely time!

          Thanks - I'm sure I will! She's a lovely little one....but it's 2 hours drive there so I can't just pop round like I'd like to!

A few others will be there as well so it will be good to catch up and take some pics of the new boys.

All of the above...and to add to Rhona's list-'Monkey Puzzle'-same author....also,something cheap and simple,a magic painting book.We might know the science behind them but at that age they really think it's a mixture of magic and their amazing talent to paint.

I'm sure it's too late and you're already at the party but my grandchildren, one still 2 years old, both love the stories of Hairy McClarey (from Donaldson's Dairy!) Lovely, funny doggy tales.
