Hi all, I just thought I would mention something you may be interested in if you are in the area.
On Sunday I will be taking part in a rally in support of "Combat Stress", a charity dedicated to helping armed forced veterans suffering from psychological trauma.
We will be assembling in Sevenoaks from 10am to 10.30am and then heading down the A21 to Hastings, arriving around 12.30pm.
If you are local maybe you could come along somewhere on the route and show your support.
The AA will be providing support vehicles from its historic fleet and I will be riding one of our motorcycles, a Honda Pan-European ST1100P.
This journey has some interesting heritage. The first ever mass movement of British troops by motor vehicle was carried out by the AA in 1909 when a battalion of 600 Guardsmen were transported by AA members from London to Hastings.

Vintage military cars in drive for veterans’ charity
Published on Monday 21 March 2011 16:00
A CAVALCADE of vintage military vehicles will be descending on Hastings later this month as part of a charity fundraiser.
Around 50 cars are travelling from Sevenoaks in Kent to 1066 Country in aid of Combat Stress, which looks after war veterans’ mental health.
Invicta Military-Vehicle Preservation Society (IMPS) has joined forces with the AA to run the event, which is on Sunday, March 27.
The procession of vintage cars and army lorries will leave Sevenoaks at around 10am, travelling down the A21 before reaching Hastings from 12.30pm.
On arrival they will drive along Grand Parade to Rock-a-Nore car park where they will be on show until 3pm.
A number of veteran and vintage cars, including the AA’s own 1905 Renault open tourer, will carry military history re-enactors, wearing the uniforms of 1909 when the AA was formed.
The army transport includes a variety of vehicles from a First World War Model T Ford ambulance to the latest in military transport.
James Baxter, president of IMPS, said: “Following the considerable success of two previous runs, for participants, Combat Stress, and the public alike, we are delighted the AA has decided to support the run again this year.
“We are also very pleased to be able to, once again, support the charity Combat Stress, which does so much to help returning service personnel suffering from mental health problems.”
