Our site used to be like yours Snadger, then a woman joined and put in a pond and flowers and other wierd stuff!! Now we have an annual turnover of trendy people (tends to be female though not exclusivly) who have watched an organic gardening program Turn up in September, dig a bit, return in March, despair at weeds, dig a bit, plant some seeds, return in May, greater despair at lots of weeds, dig a bit, return in July, get dissapointed at harvest, disbelief at size and spread of weeds, pack allotment in.

Repeat from September with new person......

Gay might mean happy where you come from but believe me, my arse will be glued to the shed wall if I find out I've dropped a boo boo!

Love the quote Flummery, although it was me who took BW's credit card away from him!
Our lottie is one of 22 and there are men, women, couples, Italians, Indians, old and young working their plots. It's a great mix. Don't get too many screaming toddlers though - the old men make up for it!

They can be as happy as they want as long as it dosen't involve me.

You see I've always thought alcohol had a more bisexualising influence on women rather than men - or maybe that's just my fantasy!

Men = sun, women = moon??????

Now seriously - what kind of design differences are ther between women's plots and mens?

I think - and at this point I must confess to having a few whisky's this eve - that men like rectangles, strainght lines, things that will maximise the scientific/technological impact - you know maximise daylinght etc... blah

Whereas ... women like to use curves, circles and design elements that maximise the aesthetic/sensual ... blah...

                    Probably totally sexist.

I remember a conversation on an archaeological dig I once got roped into where Bronze Age roundhouses had been superceded by a rectilinear Roman arrangement and it being described to me as the conquest of the male over the female (something to do with the sun and moon I seem to remember). Any way it made pretty patterns in the orange sandy soil - perfect circles and rectangles all battling with eachother.

                    What a night.

Curves rule - Fibonacci sequence - spirals, circles.... sea shell shapes, branching plants, flower petal and seeds, leaves and petal arrangements, pineapples, apples, pine cones and leaf arrangements. All involve the Fibonacci numbers: there ain't no straight lines in nature. Man imposes straight lines to try and tame Nature/woman. Nature, ergo woman, always wins!

                        Dead right.

I love doing the Fibonacci series in class (Y6) it is always a buzz to see kids lighting up knowing they can draw a seashell spiral and yet not knowing how a seshell knows how to do it............ Not sure it gets them a L5 though!

I prefer all your curvy things. My once-a-month poetry group has the theme of curves in May and I'm working on something around nature's hidden code so thanks... I'll nick some of your ideas - I mean I'll gain inspiration from them...

So what's the proper term for a hetero male who appreciates curvy things?
