  • I am very sad :(

It was our 18th anniversary yesterday and upon returning from Cheshire we had the bottle of champers - lovely.

Then I broke one of the glasses (Darington crystal) that we have had since our wedding day

Silly, I know, in the scheme of things but it made me very sad.

You still have each other. The rest is only "things", but I know where you're coming from.

Maybe it's time you treated yourselves to a couple of new champers glasses- of a different style - to celebrate your 'coming of age' ??

(I know what you mean though)x

Anyways....congrats on your 18 yrs together!

Piskie, I too get really sad if I break something, much much worse if sentimental feelings involved - big hugs to you, and big congratulations on you 18 years.

ps I have been know to bury broken things in the garden cos could not face putting them in the bin!!

Sad but not tragic. You still have Snowdrop and he was the reason for the wedding. Get some new ones - and another bottle of Champers!

How very dare he! Plastic's ok for beer, but not bubbles.

Mmmm, now that's a man for you Piskie .

(((((((((BIG HUG'S)))))))) to you, it's sad when you break something that in monetary terms doesn't mean that much, but in sentimental terms is priceless. Treat your self to some new ones for all the wedding anniversary's to come. And many congratulations to you and Snowdrop on your 18th.

Ours will be 36 years in June.
To lose something in that way is (in some ways) worse than just dropping it at some other time, it takes the shine off the celebration, but don't let it get to you, and go buy some new ones.
