Our nine year old collie wets when she is distressed or upset though has never pooed in the house since being house trained. Could be trying to mark territory or simply as others have said regressing as feels threatened. It looks like back to basics, re training, firm but consistent approach. Loosing your rag with the dog would only add to the stress the dog is already feeling. Does need to know when it has done right and praising the dog loads for going outside and a firm no and putting outside and using a command such as go toilet or whatever it is you use to emphasise what needs to be done!! Good luck sure the dog will come round.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown
