  • Wedding Prezzie for a Grape - can you help?

    Hi Gang!

As some of you may know our very own Yoanbob is getting married this summer, and as we are friends, we asked her what they would like for a wedding prezzie!

As Yo and Bob are currently in the middle of renovating their house, they are struggling a bit with their plot, so they asked for a days labour to do some digging as a Wedding Prezzie, which we are definitely up for, but I got to thinking, and wondered whether any other grapes would like to get involved and get Yo and Bob's plot up to speed with us? They live in Huddersfield, so are fairly centralish, and I dont mind providing a hearty barbecue cooked breakfast for anyone that can turn up!

What we were thinking of doing is organising a pack of fellow grapes to go over to Yo and Bobs, possibly on the Saturday after their wedding, (so digging on the 30th June 2007), and do as much as we can. We are going to be taking our tent over, and anyone else that was interested could bring tents, stay over and have a darned good barbecue on the Saturday night, before going home on the Sunday!

Anyone interested, then please respond here and we'll not only make Yo's day and take a bit of weight off her mind, but also have a darn good laugh whilst we are doing it!
    Blessings
    Suzanne (aka Mrs Dobby)

Ah the old Gardening Party eh -I did this for a friend what he moved into a new house. What you really need is a person with a rotorvator - more time for eating & drinking then

Would love to help out but 325 miles each way is a bit far. If I can supply some seeds or suchlike please let me know.

Sorry no can do, folks. Lovely idea though, have fun

I have put it in the diary, should be able to make some time free in the afternoon/evening. Let me know more details when you can.

What a super idea mrs D! I'm up for it if I'm not away on holiday. It would be nice nipping over to Yorkshire again,I haven't been to Huddersfield for ages. Just keep me posted with details etc. - we can all bring our tools etc and if we all get stuck in we should sort it in no time! Think I'll sleep in my car (only ever done it once before years ago!!) - its an estate so plenty of room to lie down - think it would be better than a tent because if I slept on the floor wouldn't be able to move the following morning! Thanks Digger, DDL and Hans Mum, if any of you can make it then it would be great, especially with a good old barbeque and a few glasses of vino afterwards!
