  • Royal Wedding Parties

Come on spill the beans how many of you lovelies have street parties planned?

Our cul-de-sac looked into it and there was far too much red tape involved to close the street, so we have hired (only £5), our village hall, and will be having our street party there instead. Grub laid on courtesy of Asda (store manager in street), music by Welsh Philharmonic performers, and some fun and games to boot.

You never know we might even get around to watching the wedding!!

Should be a bit of a laugh, we normally only get together on Christmas eve when Father Christmas pays us a special early visit, followed by a sing song up the pub, so it will be nice to do something in the daylight for a change.

    So what are your plans?
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Nothing here so far as I know.
Royal Weddings don't have a great reputation for sticking power, do they?

We'll be driving back from Devon, then heading to a pal's 40th birthday bash. Hopefully the roads will be quiet.

Practise makes us a little better, it doesn't make us perfect.

        Couldn't be less interested.

Don't forget - you could join in the royal Weeding day which just happens to be happening the same day. Spruce the village up a bit before necking warm beer.

Bar humbug you lot, I'm no royalist but it is a public holiday, and doesn't that make you feel even the slightest bit happier.

Oh yes, much happier (although I'm retired so it doesn't affect me in the same way as it did when I was working).

However, I shall do what I was going to do anyway. Although, unlikle Zaz's, my beer will be COLD!)

I am a royalist, and have absolutely no intention of watching on TV, or anything of the kind. This event is not my kind of thing.
Might go to the local barn dance in the evening, because I like barn dances!

I don't understand HB, you support the monarchy, but don't like weddings?

We might be going to a friends Garden Party...doubt the telly will go on though...like Mikey says it's an opportunity for a get together with friends.
I'll also be celebrating Easter as I do Christmas even though I'd not consider myself a Christian

I've also been asked to make the cake(s)...can't decide whether to go with the simple red white and blue or use it as the perfect excuse to make my first ever OTT wedding cake

TARA (Tenants and Residents Association) has organised a party here on a green belt almost outside my back door. What fun.

The building ours is being held in is referred to as the Gardening Club!, though I have no intention of doing any weeding while I am there.

Be careful if you make an ott cake di, if it has turrets it might go the same way as Windsor Castle.
