  • New job...in a nursery!!!

I've always wished I could work in horticulture, but didn't think of it when I left school and since then have always had to earn a living, so no chance to retrain as either time or money would never allow.
Last Fri we went to look at a house thats up to let and on the way back passed a garden centre, which I'd noted in passing were looking for staff, I thought, in the cafe.. I managed to divert oh and spent a very happy hour(ish) wandering round.
As you do I got chatting to one of the girls, and on total impulse asked what staff they were after. When she said someone for the nursery I heard my voice saying "I suppose you want someone with training or experience" To which the answer was "No, we can train someone"
You can't imagine how fast I shot to the office and asked for an interview
And the following afternoon I went, was interviewed and was promptly offered the job on the spot......I haven't landed yet
And it's full time which will be a huge help as oh is still struggling to find work, like so many others.
Anyone who says nothing is impossible has never tried slamming a revolving door
