      Zazen,

Its raining cats and dogs here and I can't be that far from you.

Mind it might be very localised just to knock down the calabrese I planted out today.

Rub it in why don't you?

No sign here - stopped rumbling an hour ago; sky is now dark blue and clear as anything.

Zaz, the BBC forecast is still showing rain due to hit you at 10pm. Don't give up hope!

Fingers crossed for you, you must be somewhere to the west of me and I could see the lighting and hear the thunder from that direction.

It as just stopped here so lets hope it is coming your way.

Seems very strange wishing someone to have thunderstorms

Still no rain here, bet it will tomorrow afternoon / evening just cos I have organised the first lottie site BBQ .
Summer of 76 I had been married two years and loved swimming in the river Teign every lunch time to cool down.

I have just been out to check the rain gauge 1/2" in just over an hour and my calabrese seem to have survived.

Rain would be good where we are too as digging down when clearing the garden and it was like being in the american dust bowl. A foot down was as dry as a bone. Don't want a thunderstorm though as that will wash away seedlings and newly planted stuff too. A prolonged shower would be good. Very humid today, hit 30 degrees on the outside thermometer. Laying a lawn in that heat, not advisable. Completely killed both me and son and heir off had to have a snooze once we had finished!!

This is a pic of me that was printed in The Sunderland Echo in the summer of 1976, as part of a feature on the drought. I was 4, and it was the year I started school. We spent most of that summer on the beach - the sea was the coolest place to be!

You're a year younger than me.

No rain here for ages and ages...and today was Summer hot to boot.(although a day at the lottie was planned I instead sowed lots of squash and beans at home)

To maybe make you feel a little better...I have almost a whole plot of heavy clay soil still not dug...and to make it worse an army of old boys regularly pointing out that if I'd dug it in winter I'd not have to do it now
Thankfully I resisted the urge to obey my elders and pull up all the weeds a few weeks ago...instead I left them for the bees...they've done a great job of keeping a little moisture in the ground

                      Good Luck with yours.x

Still dry as a, well a very dry thing in Drysville, Arkansas.

Sigh. We could see the big black raincloud and it just wafted past us grumbling away to itself.

It is very cloudy here today and a lot cooler, that would be because next door has invited us around for a bbq and has spent all day yesterday decorating their garden for the party. So to make the weather change get your bbqs out it never ceases to fail!!

Thunder and rain did a circle round me last evening, but not a drop of rain. My thermometer is now reading 25C. To hot to work.
