Train station, it was always a railway station when I was growing up.

To be honest, when all is said and done, we should just chillax, and regroup focussing on the positives. With all due respect, and don't get me wrong, because at the end of the day, no offense.

We're going to have to let you go.............whatever.

I also really like, can we talk....d'uh what are we doing!!

'I feel your pain' .... this was used on a conference call from my US clients to a group of five of us 'remote' workers - it was in relation to them sacking someone we (over here) all really liked.

        No you don't feel my pain sunshine - cos I ain't in pain (ffs) I'm sad but I ain't in pain - GOTIT - GOOD....moving on/forward

and.....and.....and .....whatever happened to ROOMS? - bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, even garden. They are now all termed SPACE! - its a really useful space grrrrrrrr, no its not a 'space' its the BATHROOM!
At one time it was just mentioned on television house 'Escape Location to Country Relocation' type programs but now 'SPACE' is everywhere (so to speak) grrrrr

Going forward makes me cringe, especially as people who use it seem to keep saying it at the end of every couple of sentences.

Awesome - fine if it applies to something like the Grand Canyon (never been there by the way) or the ocean, but not if you're talking about an ice cream.

Journey - I agree with Fiona H - it's over-used in a way that seems to equate great struggles that people have overcome with something like Dancing on Ice (though I'm quite sure dancing on ice would be a struggle for me and I would never manage to keep upright going forward).

As for Americanisms, fine when spoken by Americans. We don't need 'em, we have such richness of expressions in this part of the world, many going back into history and being adapted to new experiences/situations as the world rolls on.

Does that mean you fall over at the end of every couple of sentences?
