Well, I don't b****y believe it! Scorching sunshine until three o'clock this afternoon here and then for half an hour really dark, thunder and lightning, a hail storm with the biggest stones I've ever seen and now it's scorching hot sunshine again. Wow, the British weather!

Had terrific thunder about an hour ago - sky very grey but no rain at all - then it rumbled away to the north. Now blue skies and back to normal.

Oh wow...how fantastic!!!!
We've had it 26C today with high cloud cover...and increasing humidity.
At 3pm we had one almighty crash of thunder.....then......nothing!!!
Our soil is dry down to 3"...so little use for sowing seeds outside without regular watering- which I want to avoid!
Sad thing is that these heavy rainfalls just run off the land- so a lot is wasted.
I hope those of you with water butts are chuffed though????
Me thinks we all REALLY need to concentrate on water conservation- major style...Flipping heck ...what happened to 'April showers'????
Out of interest- how big were the hailstones???
The biggest I've ever seen in the UK were a tad less than 1cm...but several years ago in Italy( July) ping pong ball sized!!!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Location....Normandy France

Loved listening to the rolls of thunder while sitting out with a glass of wine at 6pm... then spats of rain since then. My garden smells beautiful. Hoping for fresh buds tomorrow.Visit my blog if you dare! www.gardenofheathen.wordpress.com

Loved the lovely weather this holiday as usually it rains at Easter when off school and then turns lovely as soon as the school gates open again! However with you all re needing some of the wet stuff as the garden is totally parched. When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown

Wow, the rain has done it's job...everything looks so much healthier this morning. It was much cooler last night as well. Only thing is the sun hasn't got over the yard arm this morning yet, bit overcast.
Hope all that want rain get rain soon...nice and steady so it penetrates the soil deep for ya.

I never thought I'd want rain as much as I do right now!!!
The weather man forcast a storm for Saturday, then it moved to Sunday. Yesterday light rain was forcast for today. Now they say it will not rain this week I for one was looking forward to that rain, it's not fair they got my hopes up......
