The princess in the purple dress suit needed to lose the frills and pick a less scary hat. Didn't fit her properly either and did very little for her imo.

I quite liked the other one's hat, but it was too tall and wore her rather than the other way around - half height she'd have gotten away with that I reckon!

I ended up watching it with the kiddies...hadn't planned on it but after having two days of 'Brit Stuff' at school they were really excited about it.
I then felt guilty that we weren't doing anything special to mark the occassion so got together with my friend across the road and we put on a mini street party...being totally unprepared I cut up an old sheet for bunting and Daisy painted it red white and blue and then made some little Union Jacks...it was a really nice little get together and several neighbours came and joined in.

Could never manage to sit through something for that long, as I remember it coverage started about 8ish and was still going almost 12 hours later and apart from the ceremony / kiss there wasn't really anything to say. Had a wonderful day in the sunshine at the lottie and then saw the whole thing condensed down to 10mins of highlights. Much better and far more productive

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I had thought about actually going in to london to watch it... but the thought of all those crowds put me off! So I watched it on tv. It was very very romantic and I thought the obvious love between them was wonderful to see. Also, they seemed so relaxed considering the scale of the day!
When they left in the Astin Marten convertible I thought it was a really sweet touch. Did anyone else see the big yellow helicopter that Will works with for search and rescue fly over them? I saw it fly over my backyard on the way into london, and again on the way out! (while I was weeding!!)

I thought Beatrice and Eugenie looked outrageous given the circumstances but why not?! If I was young, pretty, loaded and had a chance to show off to 2 billion people, I know I'd have picked something daft to wear as well

Catherine's dress was a bit disappointing. Classic, well made etc but rather dull. (And is it just me that thinks it didn't flatter her boobs at all?!).
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

And you so know that the press would have understood her wearing an avante garde creation?! I thought it was classically elegant - but then what I knows about elegance can be tattoo'ed on the fingers of one hand!

I thought that Eugenie and Beatrice were young, loaded and had the chance to show off to 2 billion people, and did so. Had they been pretty they could probably have got away with it. (Says Eance's answer to Steve McQueen of course!!)
I thought both dresses, the bride and her sister were fantastic, classical and suited the occasion perfectly. I have to agree with SBP, she would have been castigated by the press if she'd worn some garish creation.

Was a tremendous royalist as a younger man, now not at all, but involuntarily stood up as a mark of respect when the Battle of Britain flight overflew them. Jerusalem will ALWAYS bring a tear to my eye, and I've fallen in love with Pippa (and have heard a rumour that this could be mutual!!)

Yes, I watched intermittently thoughout the morning and afternoon.

I thought it was a beautiful day. Kate looked beautiful. Her dress was wonderful, classic simplicity. Her sister looked lovely too.

Everybody seemed happy for the couple. I certainly was.

The bit that has not been mentioned on here is the humungus crowd that attended. After the ceremony and all the guests were back in the Palace. The policing of the crowd to go down The Mall to the Palace to await the balcony appearance was absolutely brilliant. You could call it a variation on a theme of kettling, but what it meant was that it was an ordered, slow walk. No mad dash where people got trampled and injured. I think they did a very good job.

All in all, a really happy day, and I enjoyed it.

Watched it all from 8am to the end ... did boycott any wedding coverage for the 2 days leading up to it though because it was far too much!

I thought her dress was beautiful as was her sister's dress and they both looked stunning. Wills and Harry scrubbed up pretty well too. I did try to lip read what they were saying to each other because they are usually the touching moments i.e. Harry saying something to the effect of 'wait till you see what's coming', William telling Kate how beautiful she looked and Kate asking William if he was happy... loved it all.

Found it amusing that the singers in the congregation i.e. Elton John and Victoria Beckham (sort of?!) weren't singing the hymns properly. I thought Elton at least would have been belting them out.

I loved all of it, but why had so many ladies (Victoria Beckham included) got hats nailed to their forehead?
